04 Feb AlistairScribbles 8
Each time I prepare to press the ‘Publish’ button I get excited that I have another opportunity to present a bunch of crazy ‘scribbles’.
After AlistairScribbles 7 was published, a family member gave me some helpful artistic advice, which included the idea of creating “sets of designs (e.g. three or four at a time along similar lines, possibly to be shown together)”. So I thought I would try to create a set based on a “Music Theme”, having already produced “Acoustic Blues” (published in AlistairScribbles 7).
This first image is my attempt to add to the Music Theme.

I’m not certain if ‘Acoustic Blues’ and ‘… and all that Jazz’ work together as part of a series. However, I will try to add a third image to the theme of Music, in the near future.

Staying with the idea of a series of images, the next three are linked by similar backgrounds and similar subject matter.

In case it’s difficult to recognise what the backgrounds of the above three images have in common, think paper towel over a square patterned black fly screen, photographed, in different light from behind and in front, creating Moiré.

“After the rain, after the rain” … a rainbow appeared right in front of us. A thought interrupted. Can I create a rainbow in the Freeform AP?
The rainbow has come to represent many things, but here, it’s part of the personification of light .

Repetitive lines. patterns or structures (e.g. lamp posts, railway tracks, telegraph poles, jetties etc.). are often subjects artists and photographers (including me) choose to present. However, to make literal, realistic images of such subjects these days, can be considered rather clichéd. Following are two alternative, abstract attempts to represent such subjects?

Now that I’m in my mid seventies, I often think about how much time I have left?. Regardless of how long I have, I hope to go peacefully.

There are so many places Maggie and I would still love to visit, within Australia and overseas. We probably can’t afford to see them all … and then there’s the time it takes and the energy required, but we’ve already made some plans for 2025. More on that later this year.

Is time a tunnel we journey through? …. Is it just a necessary illusion for a mind living inside a brain, inside a physical body? …….

A Zebra has white fur with black stripes, right?

I feel rewarded when I know you’ve viewed and read my ‘scribbles’. So thank you.
Stay well and stay safe until next time.
