Black Head

On the first day of our trip we stopped at Black Head to spend time with our friends Patrick and Heidi and stayed for two nights.

Byron Bay

Day 3 – Arrived and set up camp at Byron Bay Reflections Caravan Park.

Maggie’s daughter, Belinda invited us to join her and her family, her sister Kristy and family, plus her friends on this camping holiday.

It was breezy and cool, but beautiful in the sunshine.

Every time we go to Byron Bay I make the same mistake; what I think is east (the view out to the ocean from the beach) is actually north.

A Visit to the Byron Bay Lighthouse

Byron Bay is an expensive place to visit or live. However it offers a tropical feel and a relaxed experience all year round.

A Visit to Bangalow NSW (13.5 kms south west of Byron Bay Beach)

While still camped in Byron Bay we drove to Bangalow, walked the Main Street, before stopping at the Hotel for lunch.

Woolgoolga

We left Byron Bay on 3rd July and stopped for two nights at Woolgoolga NSW on our way home.

    Alistair, another set of beautiful photos! I particularly like the one where the sea at Byron Beach looks like a sheet of gleaming silver in the morning sun, and the glorious sunset on your last day there. And I’m intrigued by the perfect circle at Woolgoolga Lagoon – can you shed any light on that? Perfect circles are rare, aren’t they? Thanks for sharing.

      Thank you for your comments Marg. I was also taken by the morning sun reflecting off the sand. But I have no idea how or why the circle was ‘drawn’ on the sand near the entrance to the Woolgoolga lagoon. It just looked like it belonged there; a simple human creation juxtaposed with an expansive natural wonder.
