We have recently experienced the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, which was for me a joy to watch.

What a welcome break it was from the petty politics and the big issues facing our world.

Australians have been asked to vote YES or NO on 14th October to:-

“A Proposed Law: to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. Do you approve this proposed alteration?”

This referendum is a big thing for all Australians and more divisive than I expected.

Totem – “an emblematic depiction of an animal or plant that gives a family or clan its name and that often serves as a reminder of its ancestry” – Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

“Totems classify all things including plants, animals, birds and people. They provide a link between the natural world and kinship relationships with spiritual beliefs and personal responsibilities.” – Totems of the Birpai, Mid-North Coast Library Service.
